Great writing, great directing, lousy budget.

The Robbery AKA The Mime Movie

This story was written by me (Tina) in 2005, and I read it at Open Mic Night at the Flying Monkey Arts Center.  It was my most highly requested story.  We had been talking about making it into a movie till at least 2007, but getting a bank to use is pretty hard to do.  If you ask to film a bank robbery, they will call security.  And, I only ever had one bank in mind.  It was historical (like Civil War Era historical), rumored to have been robbed by Jesse James (not true), and just a gorgeous bank.  In 2011, the bank ceased to be a bank and I jumped at the chance.  The cast is littered with other filmmakers:  the security guard, two of the mimes, and both tellers.

It has shown at Sidewalk Film Festival (Birmingham, AL), DragonCon Independent Film Festival (Atlanta, GA), Rocket City Film Festival (Huntsville, AL), and Wizard World Film Festival (Columbus, OH).  It was nominated for Best Comedy at DragonCon.
Sometimes, the video is slow, so here's the YouTube link just in case...

James Madison, Ninja Assassin

Tina here.  This is the first project that me and Stan actually did together.  It was a contest for Badass Digest.  Pick a president, pick an occupation from a list, make a trailer.  Winners were screened before Abraham Lincoln:  Vampire Hunter at the Alamo Drafthouse.  We shot this in a day.  I wrote the script in a few hours.  It was shoestring budgeting at its finest.  Why James Madison?  I don't know.  It was my first thought.  Probably because I did a book report on Dolly Madison in Mrs. Geigers 3rd grade English class.  Why ninja assassin?  Well, when you find out about a contest right before the deadline, you go with something easy.  For us, ninja was easy.  I'm the screaming woman in the picture.  Andrew Hobbs, a successful filmmaker in his own right is the victim, and Stan makes a small appearance as the 4th President.  Enjoy.

    Trampoline Girl Films

One day in 2006 Tina bought a camcorder and called herself a filmmaker.  Later, she actually figured out what she was doing and found an award winning filmmaker (Stan) to make her stuff awesomer.

Now they find creative ways to make quality films with little to no budget.
